In the past, I haven't been a great fan of Orvis products. However, I had a chance to briefly try out a friend's Orvis Hydros rod which, as I understand, is a less expensive version of Orvis' Helios rod. Again, this was just a few casts, but I liked the feel of the rod. Does anyone out there have a Hydros and, if so, what are your impressions? Thanks

i had 2 of them at one time. made a total of 3 casts and they both broke. one on the first cast the other i was able to get 2 casts. after that i just stuck with the helios. i mighthave just been unfortunate enough to have the pleasure of having two "suprise" rods that might have had somehting wrong. i did like the feel of the 5 weight, feels just like my helos does, i couldent really tell a differance, but again i just might have had the misfortune of getting 2 of a bad batch
