Looking for info on these lakes. I see they are subject to winter kill. Anyone know anything about them?

Got a response from an area fly shop that the lakes haven't winterkilled recently. Camping all closed because of beetle kill tree danger.

OFM...

Fished these lakes about 3 years ago at the behest of a friend who said he remembered them as a kid as being fantastic....we headed into the area, he was a bit dissappointed that it was'nt as green as he remembered it because of the beetle kil, but I thought it was a nice area...we went to the northern most lake first and catching fish was just TOO easy, heck while pulling my woolly buggar up from the bottom of the lake near my feet to change the fly a fish followed it up almost to my hand! It's a nice, scenic lake (winterkill never occured to me, both lakes are plenty deep for the trout to survive)....we decided to try the southern lake, the first one you pass on the way in, and it was a bit more of a challenge as the banks drop away a bit more sharply, limiting wading but making it a great float tube lake...lots of lily pads and in fact we spent the first 5 minutes there trying to catch a frog we had spotted (never got him)...the fishing was'nt much more difficult than the north lake but the fish were wilder and larger and full of more fight, definitely in my opinion the prettier of the two lakes...if ya got kids do the north lake, but if it's for yourself...try both but I bet you'll like the south lake more.
