Scroll down to the new DVDs'...

I just received "Tying & Fishing Attractors" & the Syl Nemes DVDs'...

...while the production on both probably won't win either of them of an Oscar, the info & insights provided in both these DVDs make them bargains. Both gentlemen use observation & intuition to create flies that work for a reason.

The LaFontaine DVD is a showcase of his patterns being fished & tied, but even more important is the discussion on each pattern, how it works, when it works, & why it works, followed w/ clear instructions & good footage of how to tie each one. It's "The Dry Fly/ New Angles" brought to life. The Syl Nemes is more of the same, but Syl is the "Dean of Soft Hackles". I've had the opportunity to sit & listen (a conversation w/ Sly seems always to be inveriably onesided biggrin.gif ) to Syl & watch him tie a number of times. You can find a bio for him in the dictionary under "Curmundgeon". Even though he's on his best behavior for the camera, it's hard to miss the imp behind the glasses. Good theory, good instruction, good fun...

I can highly recommend both of these DVDs. Well worth the money, you can watch them time after time & still learn something...

Good drifts,
Gene
