Hey Guys,

I was wondering on your opinions of Umpqua tippet and tapered leaders were? Due to my location and lack of a local fly shop, I have local acess to their products. Before I get too much of it I wanted to hear some opinions. I do mail order some things ,but I prefer to support local business. Thanks.

Used Umpqua tippet material for years until I diiscovered Enrico Puglisi PowerFull, which is all I've used since 1999. The Umpqua leaders are fine, but I use whatever's on sale for my base leaders (9' 4X and 7.5' 4X).

Thanks for the input guys. I used umpqua when I first started when I was younger. I didn't have any problems then but I also really didn't have the experience then either. Going through my vest I found some tippet material, its seemed weak but I was thinking age. I guess I will pick some up and try it, worse case I will mail order some better stuff. Thanks again for your time.

If you're interested in trying the PowerFull material, it's available from Trouthunter in Island Park (www.trouthunt.com) or 208-558-9900.

For the record, it tests anywhere from a pound or more per X size; e.g, the 6X is 4.4#.
