Someone has to get this started right?????
Well, I'm dying for some clear water and less fish sex - so July seems like a better time to try this again (I guess we could push into August if we have to).
Ok, here is the tally of people who have contacted me:
In:
MarkM - boat
Steffen
Andrew - boat
Brandon
Kyner - boat - definite maybe
Who else can we expect? Willi?
Tom - is a maybe after 2pm
PB & Dirtyrb - are out
Let's hope for some nice weather and no wind!

I should be game for the 2nd go round for sure! Let me know as it gets closer the day you set and I will make changes to attend. As long as it's not a Holiday weekend or a weekend before/after the 4th in July I should be open

Any chance we could do this on a Friday?? Like maybe Friday July 25th?

Friday sounds good to me.

I'd be up for a Friday.
Yes I'm just lucky to catch my first ever carp period!
Kyner
Jun 17 2008, 11:17 PM
OK, I want to attend but it depends on a few things which I won't know for awhile. First of all I'll be getting back from a vacation and it always sucks to ask to take a day off 4 days after you've been gone a week. Second is that I might have to take that day off anyway but for a different reason - to take my nephew fishing as they are coming from WA to visit. If I can get those 2 things square then I'll be there. I'll let you guys know as soon as I know.

Crap, I don't know why I read July as June but that frees up a bunch of stuff. Friday the 25th of JULY should be great. We might hold the 26th as a weather day. I imagine it'll be good either day for me. The sooner it gets settled and on my calendar, the less chance of a potential conflict. Carp On!

That day is set - we already have a bunch of definites.

I may can meet you boys around 3 or 4pm. Weekdays are tough for me until about 3, Weekends are pretty much free for me for awhile and no big trips so let me know. Also maybe the next month or two we can do a day or afternoon on the South Platte if interested?

If it's a Friday-Saturday thing I'll have a much better chance at Saturday. Friday will be a little iffy, depending on work...
brandon722
Jul 8 2008, 11:32 PM
I think we wanted to do Friday because Andrew can make it. Saturday will be tough for me. I know how work is, but I also know that Friday's are the easiest day to take off as well - not to mention it is July, and your boss probably won't be there anyways!

Jul 10 2008, 12:21 AM
OK, I talked to my boss today and since I am cutting part of my vacation next week then he said I should be able to do this. I am not promising but it looks good at this point.

Why do I have the worst luck in trying to get there each time

Last time I had another trip, this time I'm going under the knife I just found out today for a shoulder tear so I may be down in out for a few weeks

Still in here, unless I am called out to Cali for Fuego. I say the earlier the better this time of year. Meet at Starbucks located on the map below at 0730?

Jul 21 2008, 10:41 PM
Ok, sounds like we might have too many boats - if you can believe that!
So far we have:
MarkM - boat
Kyner (still a maybe) - boat
Andrew - Boat
Brandon
Steffan
Tom (I haven't heard yet)
If we have 2 guys each in Mark & Andrew's boat - then we are all set.
Is anyone else coming? Are we all meeting at the boat ramp around 8:30? I know Steffan and I are meeting Andrew at 8:30.
Does anyone else have a meeting plan?
Kyner
Jul 23 2008, 02:48 AM
Man guys-
I still am on the fence for this. I just got back from a vacation and you know how you have all kinds of stuff going on when that happens. It looks like we have too many boats at this time so that is good. I am gonna have to wait another day or so, sorry..........
BTW Tom has hurt his back pretty bad and is barely able to come to work, sleep, or eat much less fish so I can say he's for sure out.

Jul 23 2008, 03:06 AM
Man that's a bummer - but I know how it is.
I hope Tom's back is better - back's suck, especially when they act up.
Looks like it is 2 boats (Andrew and Mark) and 4 guys (plus Steffan and I).
P_R needs to jump in here so we know he's a definite - he contacted me today and wanted to go. We can carpool if you can get to my house early enough.
I know Matt said he might be interested too.
Anyone else?
P_R
Jul 23 2008, 08:25 AM
Yeah, I'm game for this. I have no boat, so if I'm to get with someone who has a boat, then I'd be happy to pay for gas and supply some frosty beverages in exchange for a day of flotation.

Just because I'm too F'd up to work don't mean I can't fish. Poling a boat would, however, be out of the question this time. I was thinking of trying to get out of workhell a little early (or a lot early) and come out with trolling motor a-blazin'. Kyner, waddaya think about that? BTW, my gimpy back was able to do some fishing last weekend....
Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentHeck, I just got through cutting the freakin' lawn. Now I need a couple of Vicodins, a few whiskeys and beers and an ice pack....

Well, I'll send you my cell number (Kyner has it too) - if you get there at a decent hour just give us a holler and we'll either swing by and pick you up at the dock - or one of us will jump out of Andrew's boat and pole you around in Tin Cup. We hope to see you there!!

How late does everyone plan on staying on the water tomorrow?
Kyner
Jul 25 2008, 03:06 AM
Guys-
If I can swing it, it will be with Tom and we'll see how things roll. Work/down under is more down under right now. Wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't taken last week off but at least you guys are all set up on boats.
Hopefully I'll see you all out there.

The outing was a great time - a great thanks to MarkM and Andrew for boating Steffan, Paul and I around. We all had fish hooked up and some of us landed fish, but what was more important is that it was great company and a lot of fun. Sorry we missed you Tom and Kyner.
Thanks again Andrew, and I'll have your sliders to you soon.

Jul 26 2008, 01:14 AM
Sorry to miss the fun guys, just couldn't seem to get my raggedy a$$ out of work at a decent hour. I would like to get out to Union sometime this weekend and need a second for the Tin Cup. Any takers?

I'm sorry that I had to leave so early, but my family reunion is kicking and we are really having a great time. Hope to put a few more hours in on the next carpstock, perhaps in August?

No worries Mark - I'm glad I got to spend some time with you - I like getting to fish with each of you guys and learning your techniques and tips.
I'm up for another one in August - these things are a blast. I'm taking off the first two weeks in August to go to Boston, but maybe the later half of the month would work. I think we should do a weekend day this time so there are no excuses!!

Jul 27 2008, 04:26 PM
Fellas-
Glad to hear some fish were boated and you all had a good time. Sorry I couldn't get out there - work was being tough plus I'm taking tomorrow off for some family stuff (fishing with the nephew) so it just wasn't in the cards so I would pretty much be screwing everyone over leaving early on Friday. I did give it a shot though.
I would love to do something in August. Sat/Sun work real well for most of us so I guess we just need to find out Andrew's schedule and go from there.
